When Everything Feels Like a Lot
A small grounding ritual & launch I’ve been loving lately
Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about how much we all need small moments that slow us down. When everything feels fast, loud, and uncertain (like it does right now!), it’s often the simplest rituals that help us feel grounded again. And coincidentally, last night when I hosted a Galentine’s, the virtual tarot card reader told me I really need to focus on being present and staying grounded.. so if the cards say it, it must be true, right? ;)
That grounded energy is the spirit behind our newest launch and first product collaboration, the Three Ships x Neso Wellness Intention Incense Set. It’s a limited-edition set designed to pair intention-setting with the daily ritual of incense. Scent has such a powerful way of bringing us back to the present, and I thought it was so genius how these incense papers not only smell incredible, like warm cedarwood and bright bergamot, but also include thoughtful affirmations. Some are even left blank so you can write down what you’re ready to release, then watch it burn away.

What makes this launch especially meaningful to me is that it was truly led by our team. Aside from showing up for the photoshoot, I wasn’t really involved in the day-to-day creation. Getting to watch the company scale and the team flourish in this way has been so rewarding. It’s a heartwarming reminder of how far we’ve come over the past few years (vs the beginning days where my co-founder and I were involved in every single decision), and I feel so proud and deeply grateful for this team.
How I’ve been using it at home lately:
Sit somewhere quiet, by myself in the morning.
Tear off an incense paper, either one with an affirmation that resonates that morning or a blank one to write what I want to release.
Light the edge of the paper, let it burn briefly, then gently blow it out.
Place the paper on a heat-safe surface, taking a few slow deep breaths.
Remind myself of the intention I set throughout the day. <3
If you get a chance to try the Intention Incense Set, my hope is that it becomes a small but meaningful moment in your day. Whether you’re masking, journaling, stretching, or simply taking a breath between everything else, it’s a gentle reminder that intention doesn’t have to be complicated.
With love,
Connie

Modern Wisdom Podcast - 11 Psychology Tricks From the World’s Best Brands
Loved this interview with Richard Shotton, a marketing and behavioural science expert who’s worked with some of the biggest brands like Guinness and Coke. He shared so many fun research studies that show how small changes in language, context, and framing can have huge impacts on behaviour. A great reminder that the best marketing often feels invisible!
Beyond The Mat - Mastering Brand Building and Marketing
Another great interview with Kira Jackson, Chief Brand Officer of Set Active. I loved how she described the difference between being a founder and being a founder’s right hand. A founder needs to be laser focused with their idea, but a right hand person (like a COO) needs to have a wandering eye that can take many inputs from the outside world, then piece together insights from them (like a sieve for the founder).
This flavourless creatine - I’ve been using it for the past year, mainly in smoothies but also in the occasional overnight oats or granola bowl. It’s been amazing for mental focus and improving my workouts - highly recommend!
This bone broth recipe - I love having a cup first thing in the morning, especially in the cold winter we’ve been having!
